Founded in 1804, Tartu University Hospital is Estonia’s only university hospital.
As Estonia’s biggest hospital, Tartu University Hospital has several different functions. Besides treating patients, the hospital is a base for medical students and postgrads. New treatment methods and medicines are used here; conferences are held.
The hospital provides outpatient and inpatient medical care for all inhabitants of Estonia, and is the only healthcare institution in Estonia that performs kidney, pancreas, allogeneic bone marrow, liver and lung transplants.
The hospital’s mission is to ensure the future and development of high-calibre integrated medical treatment, education and research in Estonia.
